I am a landscape painter and I am based in Crakehall, a small village on the edge of the Dales in North Yorkshire, England. I have lived in this area since 1991 after I finished my degree course in Fine Art at Manchester Polytechnic.
6TH October 2011- CLICK ON IMAGE IN NEW WORK AND IT WILL START A SLIDESHOW SO YOU CAN SEE OTHER RECENT PAINTINGS. ARCHIVE WILL BE ADDED THIS WEEK.
I have several paintings on show in The Old Courthouse Gallery In Ambleside, Cumbria at the moment. This is my regular gallery and there is usually some of my most recent work there.
I withdrew from organising any solo exhibitions in 2007 as I had to oversee our house build (it was a nightmare - worse than anything you have seen on TV)
and I also have two children, Alexandra (Alex) and James.
I didn't want to look back and regret the time I spent with them, and I felt the need to reassess my own work so I removed myself from the artist scene.
I am ready to organise a solo show now with a significant amount of unseen work nearing completion.
I am also now, finally, working on a book about my paintings and that should be completed in a few months but I find it very difficult to write about myself and that is what is holding things up.
This website is still being constructed and there will be a lot of changes still happening. The best thing for me is that now I can update and communicate directly with people.
I hope you like the paintings,
Best Wishes,
Sue
